Slow Cooked Beef Brisket

Serves 6

For the beef:
1 Kg beef brisket
1 tbsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp cumin
2 tbsp olive oil

For the sauce:
1/2 cup passata
3 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 cloves garlic, crushed

- This is a great meat to bulk prep. It makes a great stand alone snack or an excellent filling for wraps.

Slow Cooked Beef Brisket

1. In a large skillet heat the olive oil (or use the saute function on your Instapot).
2. In a small bowl mix all the dry ingredients together, and use your hands to rub the seasoning mixture into the brisket.
3. Sear the brisket on all sides until a brown crust has formed around the meat.
4. Remove the skillet from the heat.
5. Mix all the ingredients together to make the sauce.
6. Place into the slow cooker and pour the sauce over the brisket.
7. Cook on low for 8 hours or on medium for 6 hours.
8. Allow to rest before slicing the brisket.
